Bring in the New Year with Sizzix

I wanted to celebrate the New Year with this fun Holiday Centerpiece.   Stop by the Sizzix Blog on this How To.  Make you're own New Years Centerpiece... it's easier than you think.   A few die cuts, hot glue and some jumbo chocolate treats BAM... you're ready to party!

Baby it's Cold Outside

I finished up a few of my crafty commitments to make a couple new ornaments.  I wanted to create a little holiday scene from view outside looking in.  I cut the Window & Window Box die and created a small shadow box for everything to be tucked neatly inside. I saw One Lucky Day had created a similar stunning little scene with the Vignette Boxes that you can check out HERE!  Always a perfect spot to find inspiration.
The window and box was cut with some chipboard and the woodgrain tiding paper.  The depth of the sides are 1" to create a shadow box.  I added some acetate for glass so I could add some frost.  Apply some matte medium in the corner.

Once the matte medium is dry apply clear rock candy crackle paint so it will look frosted.  Don't forget to paint the window box and wrap paper to the inside and outside of the shadow box.

I want the window box to pop out so I could stuff it.  So I cut some wee pieces on an angle to attach.  Don't forget to make a hole for the…

Holiday Survival Kit

I have had all these wine tags to create for weeks now.  I finally made some... 17 in total.  I usually go all out but this year I wanted to simplify due to my commitments, holiday baking demands and wanting to celebrate the holidays with my family.  There never seems to be enough time!
I was browsing for some fun quotes and came across this adorable wine bottle burlap bag.  How clever!  I used picmonkey to create the sentiment and simply adjusted the size to fit and print.

I stamped the corners with the greenery stamp from myWoodland Winter stamp set with evergreen bough distress ink.

After I printed the sentiment I used the Stitched Rectangles thinlit to cut it out.  All the layered pattern paper is from the Wild Whispers Holiday Style collection.

One must have a bottle of red to display said wine tags.  I collected the wine corks from our European travels earlier this year.

Each tag is scored and folded to hold this wee Envelope die cut.  It holds a gift card perfectly.

Vintage Diorama Ornament

I love the simplicity of  these Vintage Diorama Ornaments.   I haven't come across any so it looks like I get to make some.  These are the clear plastic photo ornaments.  When you  take them apart they become 2 ornaments costing me pennies.  They are tiny so I kept the decorating to a minimum.  Which is never easy! I coated the inside of the ornament in clear rock candy distress glitter.

See, just clear and plastic... what a little glitter and ink can't accomplish.

I cut the Dimensional Star to float in the center and wrapped with tinsel twine to hide the lip of the ornament.

This one is the same but I used the antique linen distress glitter.

The mini red lantern is hung and wrapped in pine twine.

My second ornament I painted with candied apple distress paint and coated with clear rock candy.

I painted the deer, spritzed the mini tree and added a teen pinecone.  I used the Bow Punch for the tiding bow.

The outside gets a coat of glitter too!  The 4th ornament is drying.
